[E] I painted "my" dog!

I went to a Basset Hound rescue fundraising event, and I supposed to paint my dog - this is my second time of painting, the first time was THIS, which was a much easier task than a dog. I don't know what I was thinking that I think I should paint my dachshund instead of my basset hound. According to the instructor, it's kind of hard to paint a black dog. On top of that, my mom pointed out something that's obvious - when she heard that I went to a Basset Hound fundraising event, she was like "so why you painted a dachshund? shouldn't you paint a basset hound?!" Yup, why did I do that?! Ugh...

Mr. Dachshund started out kind of miserable, as you can see from the bottom picture...I was like CRAP, let's just hope it end up looking like a dog lol
I took this photo and texted it to One USA Unit and my sister.
One USA Unit replied "Not bad for your second time painting. Just call it impressionist art"...very encouraging, I love my husband!
My sister also responded "Cool, it looks like Mr. Dachshund"...thanks sis, I love my sister!

And then I uploaded the finished picture online. My mom called me from Taiwan -
Mom: "WHAT IS THAT?"
Me: "I painted Mr. Dachshund."
Mom: "He is much cuter than that." (I can hear from the background that my dad was saying "Mr. Dachshund for sure looks much better than that"...)
Me: "...."
Mom: "He is going to cry if he saw your painting."
Me: "No, mom, I just showed the painting to Mr. Dachshund, and he seems ok with it."
Mom: "That's because it's too bad and he is in shocked that he can't even cry."
Me: "...at least it looks like a dog..."
Mom: "True, it does look like a dog, but it's not your dog."

Asian parents are just awesome...now I know why I can survive in the other country by myself for so long...my parents have prepared me the skills of dealing with criticism lol I love my parents! They are super funny!

A Month Without You

Dear Torison, It's been a month without you. I think of you a lot, especially when I do things in the kitchen. No one helps me pick up ...
